DESKTOP SURVEY

Surveys can be undertaken via digital records searches of data sourced from Gas, Electricity, Water and Sewerage, Pipelines and Telecommunications. They can be targeted specifically by type or a designated location. As detailed in HSG47 (hse.gov.uk), ‘Avoiding danger from underground services’, locating and identifying buried services are one of three core elements of a safe system of work for ground excavations.
